I love the ease of use and literally the Power in PowerBASIC.

One of my surprises, I recoded a data file encryption algorithm in PowerBASIC from QuickBasic, and using some of PowerBASIC's coding techniques, was able to speed it up drastically.

I had a verb for verb translation run Encrypt-Decrypt 10,000 times (lots of string manipulation). QuickBASIC: 86 secs
PowerBASIC: 1.2 secs

Pretty incredible if you ask me...
